They provided a training session based on following topics:
- Basics of heat and heat transfer
- Basics of Refrigeration and air conditioning

Training Session Minutes
Mr. Prabhakar Mhaskar (Faculty) & Mr. Nitin Karnik (General manager Sales Engineering) from Hitachi took us on a tour of seeing all the AC equipment laboratories at Hitachi excellence center. Various different types of AC – ducted, split, VRF were all displayed in a working condition.
Students and faculty had several questions and doubts about air conditioning.
Mr. Prabhakar then explained that he will start the theory sessions for a thorough understanding of air conditioning.
In theory sessions he explained basic concepts of HVAC in great details.
The main topics were:
- Basics of heat and heat transfer
- Basics of Refrigeration and air conditioning

Knowledge about practical implementation of HVAC systems was shared and there were discussions between PiCA faculty, students and Hitachi team about the same.
In the end there was again a detailed tour of each system’s working unit displayed in the laboratories.
Vote of thanks was given by Prof. Kavita Pradhan & Prof. Venkatesh.
